Alannah Miles I think is the singer of Black Velevet. The controversey was that she was incredibly sick when she recorded that vocal and her singing voice doesn't actually sound anything like that, so when people went to see her live they were all pissed off and wanted their money back because she was just this very ordinary singer, lol.
And thanks for the prophetic well wishes. Things are going as smoothly as can be imagined, although I am seriously thinking of ditching the crutches and getting an old lady walker because damn, if I have to catch my balance by putting this cast down one more time I'm gonna be pissed.
