Once more into the breach.
Mar. 11th, 2004 07:42 pmOnce again, I woke up with way too little sleep and must suffer the punishments of hell (ie. sitting up at my job for 10 friggin hours and 3 customers all night). But I got good news today. For almost a month now, my boss has been promising that she's going to hire someone else for my graveyard shift and move me to an earlier one.
Finally, it seems to be happening. I'm not holding my breath, mind you, but it does look promising. This is the first applicant to actually pass what I call the "Common Sense Test". You know, the one where they ask if you ever had trouble in school, or if you'd turn in another employee if you caught them stealing, stupid stuff like that.
Now all she has to do is pass the drug test, and believe me, finding someone in this town that doesn't use drugs is like trying to find a cat that barks.
So, here's hoping (twists fingers in painful braids for luck), we'll know by tuesday if she passed for that's when she starts orientation (imagine, orientation to work at a convenience store - the world has gone loopy).
