Diet news

I've set a date to start my diet. I'm going to be on the South Beach Diet, starting this Friday. I was going to start it Monday, but I then realized with all the restrictions during the first 14 days, there was nothing in my house that I could eat. So I have to wait until I get paid so that I can buy the foods I'll need for it.

The book says that I can expect to lose 8 - 13 pounds in the first two weeks. The only problem is that I don't know how much I weigh now.

Ever step on a scale and have it say 'Error'? It's not fun, let me tell you that. Of course, the scale was only built to weigh people up to 250 pounds, but it still wasn't fun at all.

Biggest hurdle on this diet is going to be those restrictions.

No bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, or baked goods.

No candy, cake, cookies, ice cream, or sugar for two weeks, either. No beer or alcohol of any kind.

No fruit or sugar at all.

But the good news is that I can have lean meats, chicken, turkey, fish, shellfish, eggs, cheese, nuts, beans, and plenty of vegetables.

The best thing? Snacks are mandatory, even if you're not hungry.

So, I think I can do this. It can't be that hard to go two weeks without bread or any of that other stuff, can it? I mean, it's not like I'll never have it again. After two weeks, I start reintroducing those things back into my diet (in moderation).

That's all for now, I think. Sorry to load up your friends lists with this stuff, but I just wanted to get it all out.

Night.
