Okay, forget what I said yesterday.
May. 30th, 2005 05:49 pmI am dead. Or at least I feel like I am.
One day back from vacation and our GM has managed to turn our store, which had almost kinda started feeling like an actual job as opposed to the depths of hell, back into an episode of (insert your most hated soap opera title here).
Call me crazy, but when you're scheduled to work from 8:30am - 4:30pm, shouldn't that be what you work?
I'm expected to show up and give them my time starting at 8:30am, shouldn't they be expected to make sure I'm out of there at 4:30pm?
No, what happens is you stand at your register until 4:27pm, then you have to hunt down a manager (who all seem to think that a manager's job is to sit on their ass in the office, doing nothing but talk about the latest fashions in paris (or whatever they talk about)), practically BEG them to come pull your drawer, then sit through their incompetence as they show you just how hard it is to count $250.
I swear to God, one of these days, I'm just going to walk out at 4:30pm and let them figure it out without me.
