Today has been hell...
Apr. 25th, 2006 02:46 amFirst off, who the fuck thought it'd be a good idea to put Saved by the Bell on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim? I mean, WTF?
Day started off really well with the news from my doctor that was in my previous post (10 more pounds lost on my diet, in case you skimmed past). Went downhill fast when I wasn't able to get any further sleep before getting ready for work. Last night I didn't get much sleep because of being at work until 2:30, a half hour drive home, then getting up at 7 to go to the doctor.
Meanwhile, I didn't get to take a nap before work, so I was very sluggish for the most part. Got overloaded with extra work because the GM went to a district meeting and came back in with a stack of assignments for all. Add to that the fact that I was working with a group of people all under the age of 21 who all thought they were too good to mop up the bathroom when the toilet overflowed. "That's sewage in there, I'm not walking through that." Could they get more spoiled? I mean, you have a job, you have to expect to be called on to clean a bathroom now and then, especially when your job is with the public. Then, they decide that it's totally gross and unfair that I made them stay late with me because I had to clean it up. Did they think it would just clean itself overnight? And no, if I have to put out all new releases, count down all register tills, finish up the entire discount list, reshop over half the endcaps in the store, AND do closing paperwork, all by myself, then you can damn well count on not being allowed to go on home when I'm stuck there cleaning a bathroom because you think you're too damn good to mop a floor.
And that's not even counting the girl that worked cafe tonight. Whining all night long about how she shouldn't have to stay until we on the bookstore side left, because she finished her work in the cafe already. Well, good for you. But company policy states that all employees leave the store at the same time, there's a reason for this policy. There was a store in Florida where a girl was allowed to leave early, she was on her way to her car in a dark mall parking lot, where she was raped and killed before she got there. And no one knew it had happened because her coworkers were still in the store, working. So yeah, you're going to stay your ass right where you are and, no, you're not going to sit around playing your PSP, you're going to get up and help us finish up the work that has to be done, so we can ALL go home.
Okay, I'm done bitching now. Night.
