- No worries peeps, that sound you heard was, indeed, not an earthquake. It was, in fact, the sound of me falling over dead. DED People!!!!! And that is all because
darkenheart gave me this link
Warning: Not work safe, at all. Also? Completely dedworthy. *guhgle* - Did you ever wonder what a 6000 year old demon, in the body of a 12 year old boy, might think of our technology if he suddenly woke up in our time after drifting in limbo for 1,000 years?
Just me, then? K. - Work is still good, just challenging. Melissa, friend and manager, helped get me promoted to assistant manager of her store. I may have told you or some of you this before, but I don't remember. A couple days later, she and I were moved to a new-ish store where the previous manager had up and quit, leaving a huge mess. So it's basically her, me, and one guy that came with us from our old store, with two of their untrained employees to run this new (to us) store. LOTS of things that need to be fixed. This is why she and I have been working 6-7 days a week, at least 10 or more hours a day, to get things fixed. This fixing? So not helped by the fact that the computer network in the store died in the middle of the night before our first day there. So we spent the entire first week we were there without computers. Not good in a store where you need the computers in order to do game reserves, trade ins, etc. So, if I've neglected any of you, not to mention the neglect I've heaped on the reading of my flist, I do apologize and you're more than welcome to fuss at me and shake your finger. I can promise to try and do better, but until we get into some sort of routine at work, I don't know how much good that will do me.
- I have been a little depressed lately, ever since hearing that SciFi isn't going to be renewing Stargate SG-1 for an 11th year. It's completely a PR thing, I'm thinking. They made this huge fuss about it being the longest running sci fi show in history, then they go and can it before it even reaches the halfway point of the season? Just stupid. And don't come crying to the fans about how the ratings have fallen. I checked. The ratings are actually higher now than they have been since the end of season 7. So don't give us that excuse. And who cares if some of the actors don't want to keep going on with the show? Yes, I admit that I love the characters and the actors associated with this show, it's one of the reasons I keep coming back, but it's not the ONLY reason. And, if some or all of them need to be replaced, I would probably stick around, so long as you made them good replacements. Cam in Jack's place? Good. Jonah in Daniel's place? Bad.
Note: Before I get a million emails cursing me for not liking Jonah, let me explain. This is not to say that I thought the character of Jonah was bad. I just simply mean that I didn't think he made a good fit into Daniel's role on the team. In any other role, he probably would have been great.
- Started reading a new book this week. It's one that I highly recommend. Just imagine, you are a retired demon hunter. You're married to a wonderful man who just happens to be an aspiring local politician. You have kids: Daughter, 14 - Son, 2. You've settled perfectly into a suburban area to raise your children, take care of your family, lead a normal life. You haven't so much as seen a demon in 14 years. Then one crashes through your kitchen window, screaming, "Die Hunter!!" And all this just hours before a big-time dinner party for judges and attorneys that can help your husbands future political career. On, what's a girl to do? Why, you kill the foul smelling thing and hide it in your pantry, what else?
Seriously, this book is hilarious. It's not serious by any means. It's kind of along the lines of how Buffy was before all the drama and teen angsty love story got involved. At least so far. But, I'm only 4 chapters in.
It's called Carpe Demon by Julie Kenner. You should so check it out. - I think that's about it for now. Unless there's anyone out there that's played Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, on either PC or XBox 360, and you can tell me how to defeat Jolinar when I get down into the ruins to take the gem from him. Thanks. See you guys around sometime.
