It's been a while, hasn't it? So much has been going on that I just haven't been able to find the time to be online much, much less make an actual update or read my friends list.

A short rundown of the past couple of weeks? Well, I'm glad you asked.

1. Black Friday!! More commonly known as the day after Thanksgiving (or hell, if you work in retail), was the worst day of my year to date. Scheduled to close the store as MOD (that's Manager on Duty to the layman), with 3 associates. Two of those associates decided to quit that morning, so it was to be myself and one associate, whom the Store Manager called to come in early, not knowing about the other's quitting until it was too late. So, if not for my ingenious plan to call around and scrounge employees from other locations, I'd have been closing by myself that day. Keep in mind that we did more business in that one day than we'd done the entire week prior.

2. The following week, we were to have our store audit by the District Manager. We didn't make a good grade. The store was a wreck, nothing was in order, chaos reigned supreme. This audit was mainly just an inspection to see where we were, because the main boss, the head honcho, President of the Company is currently touring stores to check on holiday progress and was to make his stop this past Wednesday. Thank every deity that has ever been conceived of by man that the store in the mall had a horrible visit and he was too busy reaming the manager a new one to realize that he wouldn't have time to visit the rest of the stores and still make his plane until too late. We've been given a reprieve until further notice, but he will be back, he promised. How nice of him.

3. Home life hasn't been going well either. My mother decided it was time to step in and 'teach' me how to manage my money. She woke me up one morning (before noon, I might add), waving my bank statement at me, and going on about something called a budget. I've checked dictionaries, I don't agree with their definitions. It's a hideous concept and if we had the right president in office, I'm sure such things would be made unconstitutional. Well, I flared up about her snooping into my business and how I spend my money being none of her concern. This led to massive fights that have only just begun to cool off.

4. I've been trying to get caught up on some of the television I've missed. (see cut tag below) I managed to get Heroes 1x08 watched, but that's all I got to before I got too sleepy to go on.

More later, as the soap opera that is my life continues, despite my best intentions.

Heroes )

We now return you to your regularly scheduled day of drudgery.
