and other worldly news of no importance.
had to work today. Went in at noon, got off at almost 10pm. Looong day. Most especially, a looong day spent doing nothing productive. Went in to work, put out shipment, got an email at about ten minutes til 2pm telling me that the cut-off time for sending in my bakery order had been moved from 5pm to Noon. Joy! Especially since this means we're going to run out of everything except the cookies.
Must remember to get orders placed tomorrow night for the supply type stuffs we need.
Found three comics I'm going to buy. Well, actually four. But I don't count the last as a comic because it's a compilation trade paper of several comics in one. I'm loving the Astonishing X-Men series that Joss is writing. In related news, I'm pissed that we don't carry the Infinite Crisis series from DC. I heard rumors about this series and how it's supposed to end, and I want to read it so bad. Also, possibly because liking Wonder Woman makes me even more gay.
In unrelated news, have you ever, since moving out of your parents home, come back to stay for a couple of days and just wished you could move back in with your Mom because it's so much easier? I haven't officially moved out of my Mom's yet, but I spend 25/30 days of every month at my friend Nancy's house. Every time I come home for a couple of days, to get away from the kids, I just want to curl up with my Mom and stay here where it's easier to just slack off.

My mom got DVR hooked up at our house (the electronics that she continually buys for me has nothing to do with the feeling of wanting to come home forever) and we finally got it working, after a long phone call to the tech support people at directv, and I now have the ability to record all my shows to watch, so no more having to search and search for them to download. Well, unless I miss recording an episode. I have got to learn how to set it to record every episode of the same show. I am now the proud viewer of episodes of As The World Turns, Days Of Our Lives, American Idon, Skating With celebrities, and Drawn Together. These were test programs to see if I'd be able to make it work, and it's working. I'm watching As The World Turns right now.
There's a new storyline that's supposed to be going on with one of the boys on here being gay. It's a really cute guy playing him. Now, when I say boy, I'm not talking about a really young boy. He's around 17ish, I think, so it's okay for me to think he's cute. I want to see this storyline. I may be biased, but I love that daytime soaps are venturing into this, finally. I was totally disappointed in the storyline of the gay teacher, Michael, on All My Children. Michael was a front burner character until his revelation about being gay, when he suddenly became a supporting character only, and was eventually written off the show, after just a few months.
I think, though I'm not sure, I saw someone on my flist talking about comics a day or so ago. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I can go, online or not, and get back issues of some of my favorite comics. I haven't read any on an on-going basis in so long that I'm completely lost on the storylines and I so want to get caught up. Also, if you have any favorites, I'd really appreciate any recomendations you are willing to give, along with a good starting point in the series, so I know where to jump in.
For the TV watchers, now is the time to corrupt me. Rec your favorite shows. Now that I have DVR, I can record pretty much anything I want (up to 70 hours) and watch at my leisure. Well...as long as it's available in my area.
I'd kill to be able to get the gay channel, Here!, so that I could watch Dante's Cove.
Um....I don't think there's anything else. If there is, I'll be spamming you. I'll be up for a while watching my shows. See you guys later. *smooch*
ETA: Sorry, I didn't realize I'd rambled on quite so much. LJ cuts have now been added to save my flist readers. If I'm on any, that is.

Date: 2006-03-02 11:43 pm (UTC)You sir, are a dork!
I have nothing to add, I don't read comics, I had fudge waiting on my desk this morning from one of the guys in the lab across from my office, and I have bloody eyes, but I did read your post, and almost always do, but I am the suck at leaving comments. Yet now you know, you do have one lone loyal reader. And now it is almost midnight and my mommy never called me and I'm going to bed. Alone. How is this fair?
Also? MY brother is going to be 27 in like 3 weeks and still lives with my mom. Ha! You are not alone...so there!

My mommy never called me either. But, granted, I didn't call her and let her know when I got home from work, but still....
I go to bed alone every night. Unless you count Sashka. He's my teddy bear that I've had since I was 3. My daddy buyed him for me for my birfday. Best part? I found out that Sashka=Alexander in Russian. It's fate I tell ya.
Hmmmm, 27? Is he cute?

Date: 2006-03-03 08:29 am (UTC)I too sleep with a bear, Penny my panda bear. I've had her since I was six. she keeps me from rolling onto my tummy at night, which keeps my back from hurting all the next day. Penny is my hero. Although she had her nose button chewed off by my dog in 1982, I think she's forgiven me.

Yaaay, Joss Whedon's X-MEN run. He's doing his best to distract me from the imminent rage that I will slip into if X3 sucks as much as it sounds like it's going to...
Love yer icon. James Marsters and Nick Brendon in their trailer between takes, I suppose?!! *g* :yoinks:

And don't drop the soap unless Wentworth Miller, Christopher Meloni or Dean Winters is around.
Then it'd be worth it.
