Question for Rome watchers

So, I finally heeded the orders suggestions of some of the people on my flist and downloaded got Rome season 1 to watch. Are there really only 12 episodes? It seems like there should be more.

Also, is there anyone I'll be spoiling if I talk about season 1, starting with episode 1, which I haven't actually watched yet, on here? If so, let me know and I'll be sure to stick that stuff behind a cut.

But, just from watching the Making Of, which came with the download set I got, it looks like a very intersting, highly entertaining, and historically accurate show. I can't wait to get lost in it. I love Roman history. Do they delve into the mythology of their religion at all? I would love to see how that would play out on a daily basis.

I need Rome icons, anyone can point me in that direction?

Only 12, the second season only had 10. :( BUT! It's VERY MUCH steeped in the Mythology, and if you watch the DVDs, there's an option to watch with "pop up" windows of information that talk about all the religious symbolism, historical aspects of the show, etc. that make it even better.

It's WONDERFUL.

Thank you. I'm almost done with the first episode and already I'm addicted. I love it. Yet, I don't have the DVD's as I'm broke and they're $80.

They're less than $50 at Best Buy? (Go rent!)

Really? I didn't even think to check Best Buy. Usually, they're the most expensive down here. MovieStop is usually the best price. I may have to run out and get them this weekend.

Well, there are 24 eps in all (2 seasons), which is woefully not enough.

But you know, I guess we just have to love on what we got and be grateful for it.

Muwah!

Oh please please please tell me there's some Marc Antony/Brutus. And maybe Pullo/Vorenus (sp?).

There's very little fic - most of it is pullo/vorenus

It's not direct but there is some hints that the gods lead them to certain things, especially in Season 2.

Ooo, thank you. I love when Gods get involved in people's lives.

It's definitely there and it's done so off handely that you almost don't notice it, but for them it's an everyday thing.
