Question for Rome watchers

So, I finally heeded the orders suggestions of some of the people on my flist and downloaded got Rome season 1 to watch. Are there really only 12 episodes? It seems like there should be more.
Also, is there anyone I'll be spoiling if I talk about season 1, starting with episode 1, which I haven't actually watched yet, on here? If so, let me know and I'll be sure to stick that stuff behind a cut.
But, just from watching the Making Of, which came with thedownload set I got, it looks like a very intersting, highly entertaining, and historically accurate show. I can't wait to get lost in it. I love Roman history. Do they delve into the mythology of their religion at all? I would love to see how that would play out on a daily basis.
I need Rome icons, anyone can point me in that direction?
