Has anyone else ever gotten caught up in watching really old Popeye cartoons and wondering this - Just why in all hells do Bluto and Popeye both go so crazy and get their fight on over Olive? She's anorexic in the extreme, she's so severely lacking in boobs that the best she could hope for witha boob job would be flat chested, and her legs are so long and scrawny they seem like they'd break if she tried to stand up.

Is it only because I'm so fabulously gay that I don't see the appeal in this?

Oh look, Popeye and Bluto are dancing with each other!! Maybe we get our slashiness from our grandparents?

I be in need of bleach for my brain, please to be telling me I did not just imply Popeye/Bluto slash

They probably go crazy and fight over her, because she somehow has the same appeal that many celebrities have. Look at how the guys seem to go nuts over Keira Knightley, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Victoria Beckham (well, before she had the boob job).

All of them could stand to eat a few burgers. Though I will say that I like Keira Knightley, as she hasn't had a boob job and is annoyed that she has been digitally enhanced in photos.

This is definitely one time when I can say that I am not the typical guy. I just don't get the anorexic trend. Sure, thinner is good, because it's healthier, but I just don't understand people that want you to be able to count their ribs through a winter coat.

I don't get the anorexic trend either. It annoys me. I'll never be a size twig, no matter how much I diet. My body isn't built that way.

I'll actually be happy if I can get down to either a size 12 or 14. I actually FELT healthy when I was that size, and my body was proportionate. Then again, I've always carried my weight well. And this conversation has reminded me that I need to get a 9v battery for my scale, as I haven't done my weigh in, in ages!

Huh? Just the other day I asked someone on my flist if they knew if there was any Bluto/Popeye slash out there. I think they argue way to much. Olive Oil? looks like a lot of the scrawny actresses today, except they get implants to go along with their size zero bodies.

As a girl (okay, that's a stretch since I'm 35) who likes other girls (and the occasional guy) ... and as a girl who can't gain weight to save her life for medical reasons (I threw a party when I got up to 110 lbs, there was pizza and I ate 3 slices) ... I like my women curvy. Not necessarily boob-heavy, although *something* is nice, but with actual hips, and pls keep the nobby spines away from me.

It's gross. Male or female. I can't see the attraction of Matthew Gray Gubler (Dr Spencer Reid, Criminal Minds) either. He's a stick. And it's icky. I hear people talk about him like he's all sexy and it gives me the shivers. I'd like to force feed him. Nicole Ritchie, too, especially now that she's preggers. Ew.
