Is it just me, or are there more people out there who get pissed off by other people telling them how they could do things better, when they aren't willing to get off their butts and help.

I know how to cook. I may not know how to cook very many things, but the things I do know how to cook, I'm quite good at them. What I don't need is someone in another room, unwilling to turn off her computer and help, yelling instructions at me about how I'm flipping burgers the wrong way or how I should have done this before that because that's the way she does it.

It's a small pet peeve, but it's a small one that makes me irrationally angry.

If you aren't willing to get off your ass and help, then STFU and GTFO!

Well, not slapping per se. Usually I call the "My Kitchen, My Rules" spiel on them (since I'm cooking in it, I claim possession rights). Then tell them they can cook their own damn food. :D

My former sister-in-law, and mother-in-law too for that matter, would drive me nuts with this one. They want me to cook a family recipe for them, one they'd never done themselves before, and then proceed to criticize it at every step. Grr.

This is just basic burgers and fries. Who needs instruction to cook burgers and fries? After the 3rd or 4th time, I stood in the middle of the kitchen and screamed. Then I chased everyone out of the kitchen with a spatula. They laughed, I lit a cigarette by the window.

Sounds about right to me. Though I think I'd be eating my burger and fries dinner by the window and smoking afterwards.

Well, not everything was done, so I had a smoke to calm me down before going back to the hot grease/weapon.
